Frontier Developments have deployed the first patch for the Fleet Carriers Update today. Elite Dangerous suffered from several issues on the first release of the Update and this patch sees several of these resolved including the Fleet Carrier purchase fail.
The biggest change is not a fix, but a balance adjustment to the latest get-rich-quick Low Temperature Diamond mining craze. The largest possible yield when mining for them has been reduced by 25%, and the overlapping hotspots see a reduction in efficiency with the peripheries having a much lower chance of finding shinies.
The patch notes do claim that the popular triple hotspots will still provide a better chance of getting Low Temperature Diamonds than any single centre point, but that the centre is probably worth more than two overlapping peripheries.
