Atomic Heart is weird. By virtually every standard. It's what you'd get if you crossed elements of weird fiction with old soviet-era sci-fi in all of its socialist glory, and then added a dash of STALKER. It's odd, and that's what makes it as interesting as it is.
The latest trailer (which you can find at the bottom of this article) offers a modicum of new footage remixed with a different soundtrack - it all looks really intriguing, but we haven't got any idea of what the game is actually going to be like! Or do we?
Atomic Heart is described as 'an adventure first-person shooter', which correlates somewhat with what an immersive sim might be. In fact, the game does look a tad similar to the latest Prey game, and that's really as good as it gets.
In any case, we also know that the protagonist is an agent of the Soviet government who was sent to find out just what the hell went wrong at the facility/island/region where the game actually unfolds. And, yes, judging by the anomalous activity that is showcased in the trailer, there's a lot going on.
There's really not much detail available otherwise, but Atomic Heart is sure to be of interest to you if you've ever found yourself entralled by games such as STALKER, System Shock 2 or the like, or perhaps some of the weirder sci-fi if that's more your speed. No choice but to stay tuned for more info here at Game Watcher.
