Empire Eternal infuses the classic RTS magic of Empire Earth and Age of Empires into a modern strategy game that shows a clear homage to 90s gaming and combines a sleek UI with an extensive journey through 20 eras of human civilization, similar to the setup Empire Earth incorporated.
Players must become the dominant empire on Earth by “commanding armies, building impenetrable cities, and engaging in tactical battles in the air, on land, and at sea.”
MicroProse has signed up as its publisher, helping to provide support and resources to see Empire Eternal’s release on PC via Steam.
When will Empire Eternal be released?
Empire Eternal will feature both singleplayer and multiplayer modes when it releases, although its developer EPO Games did not mention a release date.
Modding support will be provided, so the community can develop new multiplayer maps, units, and buildings, and “push the boundaries of your creativity”. It looks like you will be able to mod most functions in the game, so we expect to see some total conversion mods coming out for it.
Melee combat will allow you to Scale castle walls, commandeer enemy ships, and “dive into the heart of the battle”.
“Empire Eternal has been a true labor of passion, inspired by beloved classic RTS titles from the 90s and beyond, such as Empire Earth, Age of Empires, Civilization, and many others. Our goal is to make a fun, epic, and nostalgic RTS game that spans all of human history and well into the future. We want to do it right, and we want everyone to love it as much as we do. A game by one player, for other players.” said the developers in a press release sent to us.
You can now wishlist Empire Eternal on Steam.
