Knowing how to increase your inventory space in Enshrouded is crucial if you plan on making the most out of your expeditions and returning to base with as much treasure as possible.
As you set off on your adventure, the number of available inventory slots might seem generous. However, given the sheer amount of stuff to collect, you can easily end up in situations where a full backpack results in having to choose between leaving behind powerful new weapons and sacrificing newly discovered resources.
How to Increase Inventory Space in Enshrouded
Although increasing your inventory space isn’t possible the moment you set foot in Embervale’s first biome, it is a goal you’ll want to set for yourself early on.
In practice, the way to go about it begins with rescuing the Hunter NPC and offering her proper shelter inside your base. You then have to follow her quest chain to unlock her associated crafting stations, materials, and recipes.
The easiest way to increase your inventory space in Enshrouded involves crafting a small backpack.
The item is unlocked as soon as you create your first piece of Dried Fur using the Hunter’s Drying Rack, the NPC’s first crafting station.
Once equipped in your character’s backpack extension slot, it adds 8 additional inventory slots in which you can store items.

Should you still find yourself lacking space, you’ll want to aim for a medium backpack. It becomes available at the Hunter after completing the quest that tasks you with retrieving her spindle.
This upgrade adds 16 additional inventory slots once equipped in your character’s backpack extension slot.
