UPDATE OCTOBER 4, 2021: Epic Games Store achievements arrive next week in full form, more than a year since their debut.
An early version of Epic Games Store achievements, one of the storefront’s more requested features, is now available.
Part of the Epic Games Store’s efforts to catch up with competitors like Steam, players should see achievement notifications pop up as they unlock them in “certain games”. The tweet announcing highlights ARK: Survival Evolved as one game in which they’re implemented.

Given how the feature is still in its early days, Epic Games has said that “changes & adjustments” are to be expected. More info about the storefront’s achievements feature will be shared at a later date.
Over a year since the debut of their early version, the full version of Epic Games Store achievements is ready for its initial rollout. The announcement was made on October 4, 2021, the feature being slated to launch the following week.
The first batch of supported games includes Rocket League, Hades, Pillars of Eternity, Humankind, Zombie Army 4, Defense Grid, and others. More titles on the storefront will get achievement support later in 2021.
Epic Games Store achievements are split across four tiers, each granting users different amounts of XP when unlocked. Earning 1000 XP in a game that supports them unlocks its associated platinum achievements. Here is a breakdown of the tiers:
- Bronze = 5-45 XP
- Silver = 50-95 XP
- Gold = 100-200 XP
- Platinum = 250 XP
Users will be able to track their progress and see all of a game’s achievements on a dedicated page. This version of the feature is also different than its earlier one, that Epic refers to as “developer achievements,” which are “fully owned and operated by developers.
“This new Epic Achievements system adds additional benefits for players and brings them more in line with achievement systems on other platforms. We expect this new system will roll out all developers on the Epic Games Store in the coming months.”
Unlocked developer achievements aren’t going anywhere and neither is the feature as a whole, according to Epic.
Epic Games Store reported a peak of 78 million monthly players during its 2020 “The Vault” free games campaign that ran in parallel with its Mega Sale and featured games like Civilization VI and GTA V.
