Escape from Tarkov has been in beta for a while, players having to go through the game’s own launcher in order to play. With multiple launchers being an issue that’s brought up quite a bit lately, players are likely wondering if the title will ever release on Steam.
Existing signs point towards an Escape from Tarkov Steam release being plausible. Here’s the low-down.
Escape from Tarkov Steam
The issue of an Escape from Tarkov Steam release is addressed on the game’s website, as the top question of its FAQ section, nonetheless.
“Awhile after the game is released our own platform.”, is when developer Battlestate Games expects to bring Escape from Tarkov over to Steam.
The FAQ also states that the Steam version of the game will also go through a period of testing, although it doesn’t go into further detail.
Adding to this is an interview with website Wccftech from 2016 in which Battlestate Games’ Pavel Dyatlov stated the following: “We will first release the game on our platform and then we will launch on Steam, that’s the plan.”
Escape from Tarkov is currently available in beta through its own launcher. We’ll update this post as soon as we learn more about when the game will release on Steam.
