UPDATE #2: After a 12-hour long stream of mostly nothing, Bethesda have revealed Fallout 76 - a brand new Fallout game, not a remaster of Fallout 3 it seems, with a new teaser trailer.
However, the one thing they haven't revealed is exactly what type of game it's supposed to be. Is it a full open-world RPG like most people are hoping for? Is it a more in-depth management strategy set around Vault 76, like an advanced version of Fallout Shelter? The trailer does appear to be made of all in-game graphics, so it's probably not just another mobile title.
Fallout 76 will get a full reveal at Bethesda's E3 conference in two weeks' time. Gulp.
You can check out the trailer below, set to John Denver's 'Country Road', so you can make up your own mind.
UPDATE #1: Sadly the new announcement will have nothing to do with Fallout: New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire developer Obsidian, as they tweeted the following:
How do you let someone down easily?

ORIGINAL STORY: Bethesda Game Studios, the publisher's internal development team and the creators of Fallout 3 & 4 and the Elder Scrolls series, are teasing an announcement - which seems to be Fallout-related.
You can check out the tweet below, which is an animated gif that shows the 'Please Stand By' television screen from the US around 1950s - which would strongly indicate that this announcement is Fallout, as that's the same time period. It's also the same kind of quirky nostalgic humour as the Fallout series. Oh yes... and Bethesda's Fallout titles also used this exact animation as a loading screen.

There are a number of possibilities, including Fallout 5 or even Obsidian making Fallout New Vegas 2 - although that wouldn't explain why Bethesda Game Studios are the ones doing the teasing. Our personal prediction is a little less exciting - a Fallout 3 Anniversary Edition. It is the game's 10-year anniversary, after all.
They've since popped this up on their Twitch channel, further confirming a Fallout connection, and suggesting the announcement is imminent. We'll update this post with the news as we get it...
