Fantasy General II: Invasion finally has a release date and the good bit is that it’s quite close. Publisher Slitherine and developer Owned by Gravity today announced that the title is set to release on September 5.
Fantasy General II: Invasion is intended as both a sequel and a reimagining of the original Fantasy General released back in 1996. A turn-based strategy game at heart, the title sees players leading Barbarian clans against an oppressive Empire.
Fantasy General II: Invasion Release Date
Fantasy General II: Invasion features over 75 unit types and several heroes boasting powerful abilities. Where the barbarian clans field the likes of axe throwers, spearmaidens, trolls, shamans and ancestral spirits, the Empire brings dragon cannons and golems among their ranks.
The land of Keldonia is filled with all sorts of other fantasy creatures, including harpies, undead and dragons, defeating them possibly yielding valuable items.
On its release date, players will find three versions of Fantasy General II: Invasion available for purchase. The standard edition is easily the most straightforward one, containing the base game.
The Fantasy General II: Invasion Hero Edition also includes the Tale of Falir prequel campaign, focusing on Falir’s hunt for Tolk Headsplitter and his band of trolls, an art book, a digital soundtrack with music from both Fantasy General games, and a high-resolution printable world map.
Purchasing the game’s General Edition will get you everything included in the Hero Edition alongside two expansion packs titled Onslaught and Empire Aflame. If physical goodies are your thing, you’ll also find a physical version of the Hero Edition that comes with a hardcover art book over on the Slitherine store.
