Far Cry 6 will call all aspiring guerilla fighters to assemble and spark a revolution when it launches later in 2021. Makeshift weaponry and pet crocodiles are only some of the methods you’ll employ while trying to wrestle away control of Yara from dictator Antón Castillo, but some players might be wondering whether or not they’ll be able to do so through Xbox Game Pass.
Far Cry 6 is a multi-platform release and having it available through Xbox Game Pass would make it easier to access its PC and Xbox versions without needing to outright purchase the title. Since it’s launching during the same period of the year as other notable releases, it would also remove some strain from our wallets.
At this point in time, however, there are no signs pointing towards Far Cry 6 coming to Xbox Game Pass or its PC counterpart when its 2021 launch occurs, which is bound to prove disappointing for some.
This isn’t all that surprising. None of the past games in the series are available through Microsoft’s subscription service and there’s a good reason for that: Ubisoft+. Much like EA Play, Ubisoft’s own service grants subscribers access to the publisher’s major releases upon launch, often including their most expensive edition.
While we won’t get to play Far Cry 6 through Xbox Game Pass as soon as it’s out, it’s still possible that we’ll see it on Microsoft’s subscription service at a later date. If you’re only relying on it to satisfy your gaming needs, patience will have to the name of the game.
