Far Cry New Dawn presents its players with a number of mutated animals to act as their companions. Whereas previous titles offered a choice between several human characters and - usually - a dog, here you can also get Far Cry New Dawn Horatio: a humongous boar.
New Dawn Horatio the Boar is a vividly-spotted, altogether oversized tusk-faced monster-boar that acts as the game's tank companion. It is also a total darling when you pet it, so Horatio doubles as a bit of a mascot! Down below, you'll learn where to find him, and what sort of skills he brings to the table.
How to Get Horatio in Far Cry New Dawn?
Horatio the boar is located at Elsinore Farm, to the north corner of the game map. You can find Elsinore Farm to the north-west of The Pantry, which is one of New Dawn's many enemy outposts. As luck would have it, you'll probably need to clear both locations before getting to comingle with Horatio, but that's Far Cry for ya.
Information about Horatio's location has to be found either as a reward for liberating outposts, or from various information gatherers that are wandering the map on their own. In any case, once you're at Elsinore Farm, take down all the enemies and go to the shed at the back of the farm. When you bust open the lock and pet Horatio for the first time, you'll have found yourself a veritable tank buddy.
What Does Horatio Do in Far Cry New Dawn?
Being a tanky bruiser, Horatio the boar can take an awful lot of damage and still be standing at the end of the day. As well as tanking ridiculous amounts of damage, Horatio can also unlock three additional skills as he racks up kills.
The first one allows Horatio to knock enemy shields out of their grasp. The second (unlocked at 15 kills) lets Horatio "revive" himself when you can't get to him - you monster. Finally, Horatio's final skill (unlocked at 40 kills) lets the boar charge straight through enemies, objects, and terrain, destroying everything in his path.
