Far Cry New Dawn is the latest game in the Far Cry series, and in between all the exciting missions and Outpost raids you can find a series of puzzling Treasure Hunts. Today we'll show you how to find and complete the Far Cry New Dawn Rescuers Go Under Treasure Hunt.
This is a particularly annoying Treasure Hunt, not just because it requires mastery of a particular Perk, but also because it takes you high into the mountains and then down into the darkness of a cave. The rewards are worth it though, so let's get going.
How to Complete the Far Cry New Dawn Rescuers Go Under Treasure Hunt
The Far Cry New Dawn Rescuers Go Under Treasure Hunt is located in the area above, which is directly west of The Pantry Outpost and south-west of Elsinore Farm - where you get your piggy companion Horatio. You might get the location either by buying the Treasure Hunt map or from an Information Gatherer NPC. Otherwise, just head here, to an area just below Misery Falls. You'll find a wrecked car by a stream, with green smoke marking it. Read the note to start the Treasure Hunt.
You'll first have to climb the cliff right next to the jeep, and for that you'll need the Grapple Hook - if you haven't already unlocked this particular Perk, come back when you do, otherwise you won't be able to complete the quest. Then you'll see a bunch of grapple points up the cliff. Slowly make your way up the mountain until you reach the top. You'll immediately spot a hole in the mountain near the objective marker (and probably some tough bears too, but you can ignore them).
Head down and swim in the pool, going underwater and popping up in the cave. Continue forward (it's fairly linear), and you'll come to another grapple point. Head up and you'll be at a campsite. You're reading all the notes right? They tell the story of what this quest is all about. They also offer hints about where to go next.
Keep pushing forward, and you'll have to do an Indiana Jones-style grapple swing - and then immediately grapple and swing to another point. Hope you've been practising. You'll have to do some swimming again too, which should eventually lead you to an area with a lot of rusted cars - you'll know you're on the right track when the floor gives out from underneath you.
Swim past and under the first jeep pinned between the rocks, and you'll enter an area with another car and a rope hanging off the rocks. This is the area that gets some people stuck. We actually managed to run and jump and grab this ledge, but the proper way to do it is hinted in the nearby note - release the brakes on the car.
Go to the car, check out the back wheels, and you'll get the option to 'Release Brakes'. Do so and the car will plop in the water, so you can easily get to the other side - and the treasure.
You'll discover that the rescue didn't quite go as planned, but at least there are plenty of rewards. You'll get three Perk magazines, plenty of ammo and crafting materials, and perhaps most surprisingly - some Far Cry Credits, the Premium Currency of the game. Read the note and the Rescuers Go Under Treasure Hunt will be marked as completed. Head forward and out by Misery Falls, then either parachute or wingsuit off. Could you have got here that way instead? Well, we guess...
