Publisher and developer Square Enix has now announced the start and end dates of Final Fantasy 14’s A Nocturne for Heroes event 2021. Better yet, we won’t have to wait too long for the return of the MMORPG’s Final Fantasy 15 collaboration event and its coveted rewards, which include the four-seater Regalia Type-G mount.
As opposed to some of its peers, like The Rising, FFXIV’s A Nocturne for Heroes event has an irregular schedule, which is why keeping track of its start and end dates is pretty important. First introduced in 2019, the Final Fantasy 15 collaboration event hasn’t been active since meaning that this will be only the second opportunity to grab its rewards.
Final Fantasy 14’s A Nocturne for Heroes event 2021 has locked down its start date to September 13 at 1 AM PDT/ 4 AM ET/9 AM BST. It is set to last until October 18 at 7:59 AM PT/10:59 AM ET/3:59 PM BST, when its end date occurs. That’s a whole five weeks to play through all the content it introduces.
The requirements for FFXIV’s FFXV collaboration event are steeper than those of its yearly counterparts. To be eligible for it, you’ll need to have a level 50 character and complete The Ultimate Weapon, the main scenario quest found at the end of A Realm Reborn. This is quite a time commitment but can be done on the game’s free trial, which takes you up to 60.
To start FFXIV’s A Nocturne for Heroes event 2021, you’ll need to head to the Steps of Nald in Ul’dah and look for an NPC named Kipih Jakkya, who is located at coordinates X:8.5, Y:9.7. Interacting with her will let you pick up the quest The Man in Black.

Completing the Final Fantasy 15 collaboration event’s quests will net you a series of rather impressive rewards taken from FFXIV’s single-player follow-up, including some Noctis-inspired armor for simply completing each of its three quests: The Man in Black, In the Dark of Night, and Messenger of the Winds. Leading the charge is the Regalia Type-G mount, which lets you and up to three other party members travel across Eorzea in style.
You’ll also be able to grab hairstyles inspired by FF15’s protagonist, Noctis Lucis Caelum, as well as the legendary Noctis Lucis Caelum Triple Triad Card from the Ironworks Vendor at the Golden Saucer, in exchange for MGP.

The seasonal event replay feature will let you play through the limited-time quests once more, if you’ve already completed them, but will also gate access to certain shops behind finishing all of the event quests before its end date occurs.
FFXIV’s Final Fantasy 15 collaboration event also sees the latter game receiving its own limited-time quest called Adventurer from Another World. All in all, this is a great way to celebrate the series before the MMO’s Endwalker expansion releases later this year.
