Envision Entertainment’s spiritual successor to the Settlers franchise, Pioneers of Pagonia, has been going from strength to strength since its release in Early Access on 13th December. The first major Economy Update has added Fishing Huts and the Fisher to the city builder strategy game.
The Economy Update adds many of the features the community has been requesting, including Trout and Herring Commodities, better storage buildings with a Warehouse that will now allow 8 different commodities with 64 units per piles.
Pioneers of Pagonia Economy Update is the first of many big updates planned for 2024
The maps of Pioneers of Pagonia have always had coastlines, and it previously felt peculiar that they lacked any interactive elements acting as more of a barrier. Therefore, it’s a welcome development that fishers have been introduced, and players can now observe schools of fish swimming in the oceans (Herring) and lakes (Trout) throughout the campaign maps.
Fishers can be recruited at the Guild Hall and will need a Fishing Rod, which can be crafted at the Wood Workshop. Three can be placed into each building you construct. Fish can be used for nutritious meals or at the Provisioner for rations.
There’s been some changes to the statistics of population growth, seeing the data on your commodities that were traded or lost by thieves, and the development of total values like balance of homes, total amount of units (combat, construction, carrier etc.) and you can now zoom out of the map much further. Perfect if you want a better view of your Pagonian settlement.
