Remember how Season 7 started off with an iceberg colliding into the world? Fortnite Season 8 didn’t miss the memo that season starts have to be dramatic and began with a volcanic eruption.
It also happens that this volcano ushered in a handful new areas and terrain. Here are all the map changes in Fortnite Season 8.
Wailing Woods Replaced With a Volcano and Other Map Changes in Fortnite Season 8
<p>
One quick look at the Fortnite Season 8 map and you’ll notice that Wailing Woods and Tomato Temple aren’t there anymore. That’s because the volcano that erupted, kickstarting the season, made its cozy home in the area between the two. Not only that, but there’s a stream of lava flowing out of it which, as it turns out, burns if you touch it. Volcanic Vents can also be found on the ground, their hot air boosting players up into the sky.
The Fortnite Season 8 map changes don’t stop there, either. Two new areas have been added. Lazy Lagoon is near where Lazy Links used to be, alongside lush jungles and a pirate ship. The second new area, Sunny Steps, is to the northeast of the volcano. You’ll notice its Mayan-inspired buildings when you’re drawing near.
The last bunch of Fortnite Season 8 map changes see the Block moving once more, Tilted Towers being repaired again and Pirate Camps popping up around the map.
