The Companion Update for Generation Zero is now live on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 platforms as of today.
The Machine Companion, the most significant addition in this update, serves as a friendly robot that players can personalise to offer additional firepower support or to function as a mobile storage unit for items. However, to gain access to it, players must first complete the “Making Friends” mission at the Vesslan Bunker Warboard.
Generation Zero Companion Update Released
We mentioned that you can customise your ‘pup’ as it’s called, and this means that you can name it, equip weapons so that you can defeat enemies together, choose a colour scheme, and even select what voice you want it to have. You can use emotes to interact with your droid pal, and if it’s damaged in combat you can repair it.
A variety of cosmetic items are available for personalising the robot companion. However, developer Systemic Reaction has decided to offer these in a premium ‘Companion Accessories Pack’. Priced at £6.99, the pack is available on Steam and other platforms.
The Companion Accessories Pack also buffs the Machine Companion with three additional behavior modules, which adds the ability to “heal you when you’re wounded, collect and store loot from downed foes, or mark enemy machines, increasing their visibility and damage received in combat.”.
Systemic Reaction reported that since its initial launch in March 2019, there have been over 25 major updates and two extensive story expansions, attracting over four million players. Considering all these updates, it’s safe to say that the game has significantly improved since we first played it at launch.
