Polygon Crypt’s horror game Ghost Sector has announced a Q1 2026 release, with a new trailer showing off the creepy retro graphics. The trailer features visuals inspired by classic sci-fi works such as Ghost in the Shell and Ridley Scott’s Alien, while also taking cues from classic horror games like Resident Evil.
Set in a cybernetic research facility, an unknown anomaly puts the complex on lockdown. You are M-07, a machine awakened as a result of this disaster on a mission to uncover the truth. As you explore, you fight the facility’s automated defenses as you recover your lost memories.
With its ‘90s polygonal visuals, Ghost Sector is a game surely wanting to capture the hearts of retro fans. Similar to survival horrors of that time, Polygon Crypt has included tank controls and fixed-camera angles, which should really amp up the tension.
Despite the low-res, polygonal look, the developer has also promised that there will be options to ditch the retro aesthetic in favor of something more modernised, if that appeals to you. As resource management and environmental puzzles also take the forefront of Ghost Sector’s gameplay, horror fans won’t want to miss this. It sounds like you’ll need to use all your wits if you want to make it to the end credits of this one.
Polygon Crypt also cites Galerians, BioForge, and classic Amiga title Citadel as inspirations, with its gritty sci-fi industrial architecture making the game world feel authentic to the story its telling.
It will be the developer’s first game to release on major storefronts like Steam and Epic, but you can find more projects over on the dev’s itch.io page.
Polygon Crypt is targeting a Q1 2026 release date for Ghost Sector, which will launch on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
