If you’ve watched the new trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, you might have overlooked the animals subtly present in the background scenes. This could lead to questions about the inclusion of Animal Companions in the game, particularly regarding how players can interact with them while exploring the fictional state of Leonida, which is fictionally based on Florida.
In the new GTA6 trailer, we noticed various animals that could potentially become excellent companions in the game. While it’s likely that many of these animals will appear throughout missions, events, and challenges, it remains uncertain whether any can be adopted as companions, as full details are yet to be revealed. We’ll continue to update this article with new information as it becomes available, keeping you informed about the potential for animal companions in the game.
What Animals have we spotted in GTA 6 so far?
We’ve already identified a notable variety of animals to start this list, and we’ll keep our eyes open for more. If you’ve noticed any animals in the game that we may have missed, please feel free to share with us, and we’ll make sure to include them in our updates.
Here’s the list and then we will go into a few details about how we think they will interact with our playable protagonists.
- Green Iguanas
- Crocodiles
- Flamingo
- Chihuahua
- Dolphins
Green Iguana
The Green Iguana can be spotted in a short clip during the first gameplay trailer, where it’s resting on the back of a street person who’s sitting on the pavement/sidewalk. You may have to squint, but you can see the green fella if you look closely enough. We don’t believe this animal will be a companion, but you will see them around the city.
Fun fact: Green iguanas can fall from a height of up to 40 feet (12 meters!).
Crocodiles
Crocodiles make an appearance multiple times during the first trailer for GTA 6, including a scene where one seems to have playfully found its way into someone’s pool. This could imply interesting game missions where the player might need to gently relocate them or perhaps cleverly use them in a heist. You also see a scene where a crocodile casually strolls into a shop or café, perhaps suggesting a scenario where you can scare shopkeepers out of the premises.
Fun fact: Crocodiles are one of the oldest living species on the planet, having been here for over 200 million years!
Flamingo
The flamboyant Flamingos are spotted in the first trailer, hanging around and enjoying the marshlands, a place our protagonist probably visits from time to time for certain missions or to hunt wild animals. We don’t think they’ll likely end up being a companion of any kind, but they certainly look stylish.
Fun fact: Flamingos are powerful flyers, able to reach speeds of up to 35 miles an hour and travel a distance of 300 miles in one night.
Chihuahua
You can spot the small little Chihuahua going out for a nice beachy jog with its companions in the first trailer for GTA 6, but we can’t say for sure how Chihuahua’s will feature in the game, if any will be apart of challenges or missions, or if our protagonists can have them as companions.
Fun fact: Chihuahua’s might be the smallest dog breed in the world, but they have a bold and confident personality, able to reach ages between 12 to 20 years.
Dolphins
Dolphins are briefly shown swimming near the beaches of Vice City in the first GTA 6 trailer, although we don’t yet know if they’ll play a bigger role in terms of missions and challenges that our main protagonists will endure during their travels in the state of Leonida.
Fun fact: Dolphins are among the most intelligent animals on the planet and use clicks, whistles, and other vocalisations to communicate with each other.
That’s all the animals we have spotted so far, but we would still love to know what animals you’ve spotted or ones that you’re hoping to see in Grand Theft Auto 6. Send us a message, and let us know, maybe we will feature your comments in this article.
