Half-Life: Alyx is Valve’s flagship VR title and the developer has put together its biggest team ever to work on the highly anticipated first-person shooter.
Due to release in March, Valve shared more details regarding Half-Life: Alyx in a Reddit AMA hosted today.
Half-Life: Alyx Developed by Valve's Biggest Team Ever
“Right now it’s around 80 people, which puts it as the largest single team we’ve ever had at Valve.”, the developer answered when asked about the number of people working on Half-Life Alyx.
When asked about how much of the Half-Life: Alyx is done, the developer answered with the following: “With the exception of some tweaks to the absolute final scene, the game is done. Lots of us at Valve, as well as playtesters, have played through the entire game multiple times.”
At the moment, the team is focusing on “polishing and fixing bugs” and doesn’t expect Half-Life: Alyx to suffer any delays.
As an added bonus, the full Half-Life collection is free-to-play on Steam in the time leading up to Half-Life: Alyx’s release later in March. If you haven’t played the classic series yet, you have around two months to get caught up.
Half-Life: Alyx is a prequel to Half-Life 2 and headed to the Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality headsets.
