Halo Infinite takes a different approach to handling multiplayer than previous entries in the series, offering it as a free-to-play mode with a live service element. This allows both new players and veterans to easily hop in and blast away at each other, and knowing the Season 1 start and end dates alongside when the Fracture: Tenrai event goes live is vital if you’re looking to earn rewards as efficiently as possible.
Although the title’s battle passes won’t become unavailable when its seasons end, allowing you to earn their associated rewards at your own pace, knowing Halo Infinite’s Season 1 start and end dates is still worthwhile if you plan on using your time as best as possible. Here’s what you need to know.
Halo Infinite’s Season 1 start date occurred on November 15, 2021, after Xbox Game Studios and 343 Industries surprise-released the game to celebrate Xbox’s 20th anniversary. Although technically still in a beta stage, it contains everything planned for the title’s campaign release, so you won’t be missing out on any maps, guns, or battle pass unlocks. Its end date is then slated for May 2, 2022.

If you’ve been keeping track of the previous announcements surrounding Halo Infinite’s seasons, you’re likely aware that 343 Industries plans to have them lasting for about 3 months. Season 1 will be an exception from this rule and the developer has explained why that will be the case
“We made the decision to extend Season 1 to give ourselves more time to ensure Season 2 meets our high quality bar and so we can finish development for Season 2 in a healthy and sustainable way for our team,” it wrote in a post on the game’s website.
“Importantly, with the Season 1 extension, we aren’t just stretching-out our original Season 1 plan. Indeed, we took this opportunity to add additional events, customization items and other content to Season 1 to make it an even richer experience from start to finish.”
While its free-to-play multiplayer mode is already available, Halo Infinite’s campaign launches on December 8. For more on the first-person shooter, check out its system requirements.
