Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Blackbird Interactive have announced that Hardspace: Shipbreaker’s Admin Oversight update is now live, introducing Act 2 of the Early Access title’s story, giving it a new hub area, and more.
Act 2 gives Hardspace: Shipbreaker’s Admin Oversight update its name, picking up with the arrival of LYNX Administrator Hal Rhodes. His story is told as you progress from Certification Rank 8 to 18, during which time you also unlock the Armadillo Utility Rig, an old ship which you, naturally, need to repair.
Also added in Hardspace: Shipbreaker’s Admin Oversight update is the game’s 3D HAB. “This traversable living space provides Shipbreakers with a prefabricated but cosy place to unwind between shifts, monitor their career progression, upgrade or repair their tools, and even ponder which insect-based meal to eat,” the publisher explains in an emailed press release.
Other additions include a visual overhaul of the Scanner tool, which should bring added clarity and readbility to its different modes, but also tweaks, optimizations, and various bug fixes. You can find them all in the patch notes.
Hardspace: Shipbreaker is currently available in Steam Early Access and discounted by 33% on Valve’s storefront until September 13.
