Hardspace: Shipbreaker has been out as an early access title for around a week but already has applause, with our own review calling it “100% Awesome”. That doesn’t mean that the developers at Blackbird Interactive are resting on their laurels though, and they’ve just announced a roadmap.
The game which focuses on the daily life of an indebted worker lets you experience zero-g gameplay as you carefully - but quickly - fulfil work orders to strip the desired parts from floating wrecks with a collection of tools and abilities, where one wrong move can see you blasted off into space.
The announcement is quick to point out that “all updates not yet included may change before implementation,” but that’s par for the course for early access and since Blackbird Interactive have already delivered on the promise of their game, we can extend them the benefit of the doubt here.
Hardspace: Shipbreaker Roadmap
The roadmap has been split into three sections; Coming Soon, Planned, and Full Release, and although there’s no set deadline for any of these as yet, we’ll keep you updated with dates as they arrive.
Coming Soon
With any early access game, bug fixing, quality of life improvements, and performance optimisations come at the top of the priority list.
- UI Scaling to support all resolutions
- Worldwide Campaign Leaderboards for competitive Cutters
- Mouse/keyboard and Gamepad rebinding
- Additional voice options for the Player Character
- New ship role for Gecko ships
- Additional languages (Brazillian Portuguese, Italian, Spanish)
Planned
Blackbird have a few additional plans they’re not quite ready to reach yet, but giving players a better feeling of progress is one of their long term goals.
- More Ships, Tools, Upgrades and Perks
- Additional voice-overs for Audio logs and found narrative
- Additional Game Modes
- Additional Certification levels
- Sticker and Decal Collecting
- Act 2 and ACT 3 of the Campaign for 40+ hours in total
Release
We have only the vaguest set of goals for the completed release but we also know they’re keen to mould their game around community feedback. We think they understand that games live or die based on their players, and from the notes, we can see the final release aims to solidify the community with various user features.
- User Generated Content
- Challenge Mode
- Daily/Weekly/Holiday contests
- Achievements
