Galakrond’s Awakening, the final solo adventure part of Hearthstone’s Year of the Dragon, now has an official release date set for later this month.
Picking off where the story left off, Galarkond’s Awakening sees Arch-villain Rafaam attempting to use the Plague of Undeath to resurrect Galakrond, the progenitor of all dragons, as the League of Explorers aims to thwart his plans.
Hearthstone Galakrond's Awakening Solo Adventure Release Date
Galakrond’s Awakening will feature two versions of the story, letting players tackle it as both the League of Explorers and the League of E.V.I.L, each version having its own ending.
Hearthstone’s latest solo adventure will return to the linear format, unlike its two most recent counterparts, having players progress through the story by defeating bosses in a given order.
Both stories in Galakrond’s Awakening will feature four chapters, each having three encounters, resulting in a total of 24 fights. Players will go against both new and familiar faces, normal mode giving them decks specifically built for each encounter.
Heroic mode lets players build their decks as they see fit while also rewarding card backs upon completing the two stories. The four chapters of the solo adventure will unlock on a weekly basis, having the following release dates:
- Chapter 1: January 21
- Chapter 2: January 28
- Chapter 3: February 4
- Chapter 4: February 11
The first chapter from the E.V.I.L story will be free to all Hearthstone players, subsequent Galakrond Awakening’s chapters being purchasable individually for €6.99 or 700 gold. The full adventure can be pre-purchased for the price of €19.99, every pre-order also including a Golden Classic Pack.
Collectible cards are also making a comeback in Galakrond’s Awakening. Completing each chapter can get you 4 cards, with the exception of the first League of Explorers chapter which rewards 7 cards. In total, we’re looking at 35 unlockable cards. You can check out a few in the announcement post.
