Publisher and developer StickyLock Games has shared a series of short videos that showcase more gameplay from upcoming free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter Histera, including its dynamically-changing environments and era-spanning arsenal.
Notonly do Histera’s maps change with matches in full swing, potentially removing that piece of cover one player hides behind when they least expect it, but they do so in a rather unique way.
Due to a phenomenon called The Glitch, sections of the map can spontaneously turn into the “prehistoric Pliocene Plateau, war-ridden mid-20th century Novgorod or the futuristic Montorro City.” This is not just a simple change of scenery, affecting the layouts of maps and encouraging us to adapt our strategies accordingly.
In addition, The Glitch introduces weaponry from across different eras, challenging us to master an arsenal that includes prehistoric bows and throwing knives, semi-automatic rifles resembling the Gewehr 43, as well as more futuristic guns.
Supporting up to 16 players, the title also promises a dash of old-school FPS gameplay through the inclusion of pick-ups. Distinctly colorful and spread across its maps, they offer advantages like extra health, infinite ammo, or double damage.
Histera is slated to enter Steam Early Access at some point in 2024. Get a glimpse of The Glitch in action in the video below.
