The infamous DOTA Auto-Chess game, Underlords, is now playable in its beta state! Of course, this means that not all of its assets and UI are in place, which is something to keep in mind if you're eager to jump into it.
DOTA Underlords is, sadly, at the time of writing available only to a select group of players - owners of the DOTA 2 Battle Pass. Having said that, the Open Beta testing period is really close too. Not months, but nary a week away!
How to get DOTA Auto-Chess?
According to Valve, who recently announced the release of Underlords' closed beta, owners of the DOTA 2 Battle Pass can download Underlords by clicking on the related link on their DOTA 2 dashboard. What's interesting for the rest of us, however, is the following: "After approximately a week of stress testing we’ll transition to Open Beta."
With Open Beta, the game will open up more than it is now. Ranked matchmaking and free and open cross-play across Steam, Android, and iOS, as well as cross-save compatibility, are all coming as early as next week. Exciting news, to be sure!
It's interesting to note that it didn't take very long at all for Valve to collaborate and develop a version of auto-chess, considering that the niche is somewhat young still. Epic and Riot are already working on their own contenders, too. Let us see who surfaces to the top.
