Publisher Sega and developer Amplitude Studios today revealed that historical 4X strategy game Humankind is aiming for a April 2021 release window.
Pre-orders for Humankind’s Digital Deluxe Edition are also now live. Players who purchase the game early not only benefit from a 15% discount, but will also receive the Boudicca Avatar Set, alongside a decoration and 10 symbols for their profile.
Humankind is purchasable on Steam, Epic Games Store, select retail stores, and Stadia. The game’s standard edition will be available only at launch. Details about its pricing were not shared.

The physical edition will feature largely the same content as the Digital Deluxe Edition but will include a physical poster of the tech tree alongside an exclusive two-sided decision coin.
Depending on the retailer, you’ll get this version of Humankind in either a Steelbook or a 100% fully recyclable eco-pack.
Humankind lets players forge their path through history by starting out as one civilization, then moving to another as they hop to a different era.
A new OpenDev beta scenario is available on Stadia for the coming 7 days, giving players an early look at the game’s first 100 turns. Getting access to it only requires a Google account.
Everyone starts off as the Nubians in the Ancient Era, having a choice between 10 cultures when hopping to the second and final available era.
This scenario also features the first iteration of the game’s diplomacy feature. You can see Humankind in action in its latest trailer below.
