Pax Nova is the name of Iceberg Interactive and Greywolf Entertainment's promising upcoming 4X strategy, which seems like it's going for a mix of Civilization and Galactic Civilizations 3 in regard to its gameplay mechanics and features.
Indeed, as the above might suggest, Pax Nova is going to feature both planetary and galactic gameplay, which is a rather ambitious development task, to be sure, but one can only hope that Greywolf are on top of things. One thing's for sure - Pax Nova looks great already, so there's definitely room for optimism.
Pax Nova is going to have us choose between three different races, and several different factions to try and establish ourselves in a race to explore new worlds and star systems. Indeed, each planet and star system is procedurally generated with each new game, so that players get to keep uncovering secrets, new races, challenges, and more.
We can expect all the usual slew of features we'd get in any sort of 4X game, except on two different scales: on planets, we'll build cities, outposts, and local infrastructure, while in outer space, we'll get to set up space stations, control starships, and more.
Greywolf Entertainment's previous project was a rather streamlined 4X Dawn of Andromeda, which they say they've learned much from, and which helped give them the experience they needed to tackle a more complex project.
Pax Nova is slated for release via Early Access just this December, so stay tuned for more info on this promising title!
