Publisher Konami has announced the opening of a new Osaka-based development studio.
Opening on March 27, 2023, just a week after the company’s 50th anniversary, Konami Osaka Studio represents a development relocation of the existing studio. The publisher describes it as embracing the concept of “Creators First.”

“It features a well-developed environment where creators can unleash their full potential and is situated in a location with convenient transportation access. As the primary production center in Western Japan, the facility is fully equipped with motion capture equipment and sound studios essential for product development,” a press release explains.
Konami Osaka Studio’s opening announcement was accompanied by the news that the publisher also aims to complete its next-generation R&D center, Konami Creative Front Tokyo Bay, in 2025.
“In order to achieve further sustainable growth in the significantly expanding ‘entertainment’ field, Konami Group will strengthen its product development capabilities and continue to provide products and services for the next generation.”
The company also noted that starting from March 2023, it has “substantially raised our base-salary.”
Konami Osaka Studio opens with the Bloober Team-developed Silent Hill 2 Remake officially confirmed as in development.
Other franchises in the publisher’s portfolio are also rumored to return to our screens in the future, so there is a chance that the company might be gearing up to focus more on the video games side of its business.
