League of Legends Season 2024 release date marks an important moment for players with competitive ambitions, signaling the start of the year’s first ranked split.

League of Legends’ Season 2024 release date is currently expected to occur on January 10, 2023, shortly after patch 14.1 also goes live.- League of Legends Season 2024 release date: January 10, 2023
More specifically, it will kick off at 12 AM, “according to regional local time everywhere except for LA1 and NA1,” according to the developer. In the two highlighted regions, the season kicks off at 9 AM CST and 7 am PST respectively, on the same day.
The new season will feature three Splits. Its first starts at the date and times mentioned above, LoL’s Season 2024 Split 2 is expected in May, with Split 3 beginning in September.
League of Legends’ Season 2024 also sees Summoner’s Rift undergoing a number of different changes, that see Voidgrubs appearing on the map during the initial stages of matches before making way for the Rift Herald.
Jungle camps will also be touched by the void, granting their monsters increased resilience when respawning during the mid-to-late stages of matches.
Baron Nashor also gets a visual update of the voidy persuasion while returning to face players using three forms, each with its own signature ability that should make encounters more varied.
The map itself will also look a bit different after LoL’s Season 2024 release date occurs, as some of its terrain will be shifted around in an attempt to refresh gameplay and make ganking opponents a bit trickier than it was in the past. This was explained in a recent tweet from the official account, going over the various lane changes by extending walls, giving better vision, and safety.

A host of new items and changed values for existing ones are also likely to be part of patch 14.1, following the removal of mythic items as well as feedback obtained from the update’s PBE run during late 2023.

Skarner will be the first older champion to receive a rework that touches his visuals, lore, and gameplay.
A second VGU inspired by the Arcane TV series will be up next, followed by Shyvana, whose rework will focus more on refining her gameplay, but will not be released until 2025.
Smolder, The Fiery Fledgling is LoL Season 2024’s newest ADC; furthermore, a new mid-range mage is also in the works alongside Noxian warlord Ambessa Medarda.
As far as champion mastery goes, the existing level cap will be removed, allowing players who spend lots of their time in the Rift as one particular champion better show off their dedication.
Levels 7 through 10 unlock new versions of the mastery emote, while those beyond have an evolving number attached.
In late February/early March, the developer will bring its own proprietary anti-cheat software, Vanguard, to League of Legends, as it pushes to reduce the number of bots and cheaters encountered in matches.
