Publisher Iceberg Interactive and developer Rhombus Studios announced during today’s Iceberg Ahead showcase that upcoming 4X strategy game Lord of Rigel has been delayed until 2021.
Featuring 10 playable races, Lord of Rigel will task you with ensuring that yours prospers at any cost.
As you set off on your galactic adventure, you’ll inevitably bump into other races that have their own goals. To this extent, diplomacy can help avoid bloodshed or bolster both sides through trade agreements.
Lord of Rigel Delayed 2021
Should diplomacy prove ineffective, you can always resort to full-on war, Lord of Rigel featuring real-time combat during which you’ll lead fleets comprised of anything frrom smaller craft to capital ships.
Targeting subsystems can disable specific parts of a ship while marines can be used to board, raid and even capture opposing ships.
Espionage is another option available in Lord of Rigel. Your spy networks can sabotage fleets or bomb infrastructure, directly hurting enemy assets.
You can also steal technology to level the playing field or bring about political shifts by inciting rebellions and assassinating troublesome enemy leaders.
Revealed back in 2016, Lords of Rigel has gone through its fair share of delays. Hopefully, its most recent will also be the last.
You can catch a short glimpse of Lord of Rigel in the video below, around the 7-minute mark.
