What’s the release date for Marvel Rivals Season 2 Hellfire Gala? Marvel Rivals, NetEase’s hero shooter based on the famous comic book IP, has achieved a great deal of success since it opened its gates back in December 2024 with Season 0 and during 2025’s first quarter with an impressive first season that included all four members of the Fantastic Four.
Seasons in Marvel Rivals work like the traditional ones found in other modern shooters and various online games. Brand-new playable content like characters, maps, and modes are added in regularly at no extra cost, alongside battle passes which include new cosmetics of all sorts.
Players should also keep tabs on in-game missions and special events to obtain the free in-game currency called Units, which allows the direct purchase of store items without spending Lattice (the premium currency). That means it’s generally a good idea to spend money on the newest battle pass (if you’re a regular player), save the Lattice earned to make the next one cheaper, and get Units wherever possible in order to grab extra skins and packs from the store.
More importantly, battle passes in Marvel Rivals won’t expire when each season ends; this means they can be completed whenever you want and without external pressure (unless you want that one skin). Even when Season 2 starts, you’ll be able to continue to make your way through the Season 1 pass… as long as you picked it up while it was available.
Marvel Rivals Season 2 Hellfire Gala Release Date
Marvel Rivals’ second season starts later this week and is expected to run for three months.
- Marvel Rivals Season 2 Hellfire Gala will begin on April 11th, 2025, at 8 AM UTC.
Season 2 will follow the three-month format of Season 1, yet it’s coming with half the number of new playable characters. It will feel like a middle point between the Fantastic Four-led first chapter and the seasonal model that’s coming with Season 3 and beyond: two months, with two new heroes (or villains) coming with each. That equals one new character per month.
“It’s the most glamorous night of the year, darling - Emma Frost herself invites you to the Hellfire Gala on Krakoa! Once a year, this sovereign Mutant island opens its gates, welcoming both friend and rival alike to shape a brighter future. Now stranded in the year 2099 by a raging temporal storm, the fate of Krakoa hangs in the balance, its ecosystem suffering from dangerous chronal energy.
Can a night of glittering festivities bring unity over fine dining and dazzling conversation? Who among the attendees possesses ulterior motives or solely seeks to party? And who is the uninvited guest?
Dress your best, step through the gates, and join us for an unforgettable evening of elegance, intrigue, and power.”
Marvel Rivals Season 2 Hellfire Gala Details
Marvel Rivals Season 2 introduces two new playable characters: Emma Frost and Ultron. Moreover, a Krakoa map for Domination is dropping as soon as the season begins.
Emma Frost is a Vanguard (tank) hero who specialises in crowd control over straightforward tanking. This means her psychic and diamond abilities require a degree of strategic planning and execution. She also enables a team-up with Magneto and Psylocke if they’re part of the team.
As for Ultron, he won’t be introduced with version 20250411 and we’ll have to wait until Season 2.5 (a mid-May update) to play as him, but we already know he’ll be a Strategist who actively uses his drones to help the team even if he’s a villainous character elsewhere and probably in the game’s ongoing narrative. We’ll update this article with new details as they come.
