As is tradition with Apex Legends, a new season update has come with a new and unique addition to its growing roster. This time in the form of a disgraced former legend who is seeking a return to his former glory and put his skills to the test against the new generation of heroes.
August Montgomery ‘Ballistic’ Brickman is coming to Apex Legends on May 9th as part of the Season 17 update and if his story trailer is anything to go by, then Ballistic has all the potential of becoming a fan-favorite hero down the line.
New Apex Legend Hero Ballistic is Coming In Season 17 Update
Players are first introduced to Ballistic in the newest addition of the ‘Stories from the Outlands’ series which provides the heroes in Apex Legends with their own backstory and origin. Brickman is seen living in isolation and reliving his days as a beloved hero through archive recordings. We learn that his career ended in tragedy with the death of his brother-in-law which led to him becoming the recluse seen in the trailer and being abandoned by his family.
Ballistic decides to come out of retirement in an effort to save his son Nathaniel when it’s revealed that he’s been accepted into the games. In order to spare his son the same fate as his uncle, he strikes a deal with the sinister syndicate. While Respawn has yet to fully show the aging gunslinger in action, a number of leaks have seemingly broken down his abilities, and playstyle.
Details are subject to change until there’s an official reveal but it seems that Ballistic will be able to carry a third gun, fire a smart bullet that overheats enemy weapons, and upgrade his weapons to Gold caliber as his ultimate ability.
