Observation is a game about - you've guessed it - observing. The key lies not in what you do, however, but in how and why you're doing it. In Observation, players will be taking control over an AI as it attempts to piece together what happened aboard the space station it's been assigned to.
This narrative-heavy first-person adventure game is rather unique in that instead of pitting players against its version of an ominous AI, it will have them control it through whatever tools it might have at its disposal.
Set in outer space, Observation will have players reveal its story through the literal lens of S.A.M., said artificial intelligence, who has to operate station's various electronic implements to figure out what sort of catastrophe had befallen its crew.
No Code, the developers of Observation, are made up from the veterans of Rockstar North, Rocksteady, Io Interactive, and Creative Assembly. In fact, some of the devs have worked specifically on Alien: Isolation, which spells an optimistic outlook for Observation.
This "taste of what it will be like to converge (your) minds with that of a CPU", according to publisher Devolver Digital, is set to come out on PC sometime next spring, with more information on the game set to follow soon.
