Palworld has been released for less than a day, yet it has already amassed an impressive concurrent user base of 365,192 players on Steam. For those curious about the number of players you can collaborate with, we’ll provide a concise overview of the maximum player count for this online co-op survival shooter.
You can establish dedicated servers in two ways: by configuring your home machine, which may require some troubleshooting, or by opting for a fixed monthly rate through various online services that offer server rentals. This setup will allow PC players to join games with up to 32 participants. This is different for the Xbox and we’ll explain why.
What’s the Max Party Size for Palworld on PC and Xbox Series X/S?
Palworld is designed as a co-op multiplayer game where players can form teams and create guilds. Typically, the game supports teams of two to four players. However, if you set up a dedicated server, the player limit can increase. Unfortunately, this feature is not available on the Xbox Series X/S, restricting players to the standard 2-4 player options.
This limitation appears to be related to Xbox Game Pass, based on interpretations of comments from Pocketpair, the developers of Palworld, shared on Discord. “We’d like to have dedicated servers on Xbox but it’s unfortunately not up to us and is quite difficult to negotiate at this time!” said the representative, Bucky. It appears that Microsoft may not be offering or allowing Pocketpair to support Dedicated Servers for Palworld, but we have reached out to both Microsoft and Pocketpair for clarification on this.
There’s been no recent updates on crossplay support, which isn’t available either at the moment, and we know that it’s planned for release on PlayStation 5, but probably won’t make it across to this platform for a long time yet. Let’s hope dedicated servers get added for Xbox and Game Pass PC players soon, and we will keep you updated if we hear anything.
