Party Animals is the latest physics-based brawler on the block which, pits cute and fuzzy renditions of real-life animals against each other. Its 2020 demo caught the eye of many players and, if you count among them, chances are you’re wondering about the game’s release date.
The title’s charm could make it a potential hit when it does end up launching and, to make the wait a tad bit easier, we’ve gathered everything we know about Party Animals, including details about its release date, gameplay, system requirements, and more in this here article.
Party Animals Release Date
After the 2020 demo was released, Recreate Games remained quiet, diligently working on the game. Party Animals initially had a target release date in 2022, but as noted in a Steam post, it was subject to “possible delays due to quality and compliance approvals.”
Ultimately, the game missed its 2022 window. However, during the Summer Game Fest 2023, an announcement confirmed the release date as September 20, 2023.</b>
Party Animals will be available for $19.99 USD for the Standard edition, while the Deluxe edition is priced at $29.99 USD. The Deluxe edition comes with exclusive outfits, characters, and a generous amount of in-game currency. Those who pre-order either edition will benefit from additional in-game perks. Party Animals Story
It’s unclear how deep Party Animals’ story will be or if there will be any narrative to speak of. Physics-based brawlers tend to keep things fairly focused on fights, so it’s possible that we may not get a lot of lore when the title launches.
That being said, the bonds you form and the friendships you may end up breaking as you and your friends push, punch, and bonk each other with various weapons will make stories unto themselves.
Party Animals Gameplay
Party Animals’ gameplay is all about physics-based brawls, emphasizing fun and mayhem. This isn’t a game where you’ll memorize long lists of combos and the physics driving the characters’ movement can often work in rather mysterious ways.
Before entering the fray, you get to pick your avatar from multiple cute, fuzzy renditions of animals like cats, dogs, bunnies, dinosaurs, and unicorns.
Aside from punching, kicking, grabbing, and shoving other players, you’ll also get to use weapons like crossbows or baseball bats to dish out damage across both offline and online modes.
The arenas in which you fight are another major part of Party Animals’ gameplay, having different obstacles and interactable elements, like flying rockets, that shake things up quite significantly.
