Believe it or not, Shot Online is 20 years old.
Webzen’s groundbreaking golf MMORPG has been around since Tiger Woods’s heyday, and it has remained in the limelight thanks to a succession of updates, improvements, and events.
In case you’ve never played it, Shot Online is an immaculately detailed, massively multiplayer 3D golf sim with RPG mechanics. It sees you playing rounds, finishing quests, and taking part in competitions to level up your character.
But that’s only half the story. Shot Online is also a thriving social hub, thanks to a vast playerbase and real-time chat. Then there are realistic golfer movements and gameplay, real-time interactions, and much more besides to make a game that is more than a sports title, simulation, or RPG.
Then there’s this new event —and the highlight of the game’s summer calendar. The Sea Treasure event sees you collecting dice and then rolling them to make your way around a Dice Board.
Many squares on the board yield rewards, and once you’ve made it all the way around you’ll see your Sea Treasure Gauge Bar shoot up, unleashing even more rewards.
These include G2 Reinforcement Tickets, [Sealed] Special Enhancement Stone, Legend Change Hammer, Blessed Legend Fabric Piece Pouch +100, Legend Change Ember, and Co-Player Energy Box 30%.
There are several different ways of getting your hands on dice.
The Cumulative Attendance event gives them away for logging into the game, while the Weekend Dice Giveaway lets you claim dice from NPC Melias on Saturdays and Sundays.
Then there’s the Consume Event, which allows you to fabricate dice by consuming Normal Runes, and the Item Recipe System, which lets you build your own dice from scratch.
A separate Holecount Event and Putting Minigame gets you even more dice for scoring Birdies and sinking putts, whatever the course, meaning you’re almost guaranteed to amass a plentiful supply.
You can take part in the Sea Treasure Event from July 24th until August 27th, with more events to follow.
Stay tuned to learn all about these events in due course. Make sure you keep an eye on the game’s official event page, but you can also download the game here, and visit its official website here and Facebook page here.
