Detecting Ghost Orbs in Phasmophobia can be challenging, but it’s important to keep a lookout. They provide one of the three pieces of ghost evidence necessary to correctly identify the type of ghost haunting your location.
To observe Ghost Orbs, you will need either a video camera, a head-mounted camera, or possibly a tripod. While not strictly essential, the tripod proves to be incredibly useful for monitoring these orbs from the comfort of the video screen located in your van, keeping everyone out of danger during a hunt. You just need to set it up with a camera first.
How to spot Ghost Orbs in Phasmophobia
In Phasmophobia, a good number of ghost types project ghost orbs. Before we delve into the complete list, let’s first discuss what these orbs are and what tools you can use to detect them.
Ghost Orbs appear as bright, white, floating balls on your video camera, and spotting them can be quite challenging. Being in the same room as the ghost with the lights turned off can make them easier to observe. Usually, one or two orbs can be seen ascending from the ground and drifting around the room. If you’re utilizing the head-mounted camera, keep in mind that a teammate must watch the video screen in the van while you’re in the ghost’s presence to see the orbs.
Ideally, you should set up a camera on a tripod in the room where the ghost is located. Following this, it’s advisable to spend some time monitoring the room through the video screen within the safety of the van to see if you can spot any orbs, just in case you spark a hunt if your sanity is low.
On higher difficulties, the ghost can change rooms, so consider this if you aren’t observing any. You should also remember that only certain ghosts project orbs. Here’s a list:
- Mare
- Banshee
- Revenant
- Yurei
- Yokai
- Hantu
- Onyro
- Obake
- Raiju
- Thaye
If you’re open to the potential risk of sacrificing a teammate, another effective strategy is to utilize the head-mounted camera. Look for Ghost Orbs on the monitor as one of your team members navigates through the house. It could end in tears if your sanity is low, but at least you tried.
