If you've been playing Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire lately, you might've come across a crashing and/or freezing issue upon entering the 'Arena Sub-level' area. As it turns out, this is a more elusive problem for the developers to locate than it might've first seemed, sadly.
The issue is more-or-less simple at face value. Some have found that their game freezes and, sometimes, crashes outright upon trying to load said area, and the bug has remained present for some time now, because replicating the problem seems to be virtually impossible for the developers at this moment.
Since the developers cannot replicate said bug, they can't go about fixing it, either, and the solution they've come up with is as unlikely as it is impressive: for one of the players experiencing the issue to bring their own PC to the devs' office.
"We've come to the conclusion that we need one of your rigs that is experiencing the issue to runs tests on for ourselves. Specifically, we are requesting that anyone who is nearby to our Irvine office to please physically bring in their computer so that we may have our programmers discern the direct cause of this crash."
Developers are also looking for details on when, exactly, is the crash/free ocurring, if players can cheat their party into said level, and more. Though it's problematic that the issue hasn't been resolved, it is also refreshing to see the lenghts to which the developers, Obsidian, are willing to go to work on their code.
