Planet Zoo offers an overwhelming amount of detail in its simulation which makes bugs like keepers not refilling food really unfortunate occurences that can put a stop to your plans for a while. But is there a bug fix or a workaround?
Here’s what we know about keepers not refilling food in Planet Zoo and whether or not there’s a bug fix for the issue.
Planet Zoo Keepers Not Refilling Food Bug Fix
The bug related to keepers not refilling food in Planet Zoo has been around for a while, being encountered frequently even after the full launch of the title.
If you’re encountering the keepers not refilling food bug, it’s recommended to pause the game and check if you’ve a keeper assigned to your habitat. If so, make sure there’s a keeper hut nearby, especially if you’ve a small number of keepers spread between multiple habitats. Your visitors might complain about it, but it beats having starving and thirsty animals
Keepers can become tired, but that’s not always the case of them not refilling food. On top of that, make sure that there’s a power source nearby, if required.
If the facilities adjacent to the habitat are completely in order and your keepers still aren’t refilling food or water, you’re likely dealing with the notorious Planet Zoo bug. While there currently is no official bug fix for the issue, there are a couple of workarounds that have proven to work in a few situations.
You can start by removing the food enrichment toys in your habitat. It’s possible that keepers aren’t refilling foor and water in regular feeders because of them. If that’s not the case, removing and replacing the feeders or moving them to another place in the habitat can convince the Planet Zoo keepers to refill your animals’ food and water.
If you’re experiencing a crisis and your animals are near death because of keepers not feeding them, moving them to the trade center (clicking on them and selecting the small round button towards the bottom of their panel) seems to feed them automatically. While it’s far from an ideal solution to Planet Zoo’s feeding bug, it’s another way of working around the issue.
Some players have reported it being just an UI bug, but in our experience, that was never the case, the animals actually starving.
