The PlayStation 5 Pro will be announced today during a special Technical Presentation hosted by PlayStation‘s lead architect Marc Cerny.
Following on from the news that the next PlayStation State of Play could be happening in September, reliable insider and Dealabs user Billbil-kun claimed that the PlayStation 5 Pro would be revealed during this Presentation. We now have this confirmed and it will be airing today.
Billbil-kun claimed earlier this month to have access to the design of the PS5 Pro but didn’t share images due to copyright agreements, they did do some concept art designs to show us a look that seemed similar to the PS5 Slim.
You can see the design below, as shared by Billbil-kun.
PlayStation later placed a similar design in this PlayStation 30th Anniversary announcement post on Instagram, which you can see in the background just above the 30th mark.

Will the PS5 Pro be a digital console with no disc drive?
You will notice that there’s no disc drive, and the presence of three black stripes in the middle, with the PS5 Pro being slightly thicker than the PS5 Slim, according to Billbil-kun. The front displays two USB-C ports and a power button.
Two versions of the console are said to be planned: a digital-only model without a disc drive and another that includes a disc drive for physical game copies and 4K Blu-ray playback. Sony aims to offer competitive pricing by providing the option to forgo the disc drive. However, details remain unconfirmed, and the source, Billbil-kun, wasn’t completely sure of its plans. Confirmation will be provided later today during the PlayStation 5 Technical Presentation.
