Publisher and developer Firenut Games, alongside developer Digital Dream, have announced that they are teaming up to work on the upcoming psychological horror game Baptiste, which recently received a Steam demo.
The title follows protagonist Tom, who, along with his mother, Sara, seeks a new start at Jagged Shore Cliff. It promises to take us through “a world where beauty and terror coexist in a macabre dance” while delivering a healthy dose of spooks through one particularly creepy doll and potentially other equally horrific means.
Baptiste Demo Available on Steam Next Fest
As you can probably tell from the fact that Baptiste’s main characters run from tragedy to a remote hill in the UK, things take a turn for the worse soon after they arrive.
The presence of the aforementioned doll, locked inside a glass cabinet, and a warning that it should never be released further suggest that the pair’s stay will prove quite rocky.
Baptiste mysterious mansion promises a “suffocating atmosphere” that turns darkness into our “most feared enemy” as we help Tom survive while facing his inner demons.
The game’s Steam demo lets us experience the first 30 minutes, which should hopefully be enough to gauge whether it might be up our alley. And yes, the creepy doll is said to make an appearance.
If you do end up wanting more of the game’s brand of horror, you can follow and wishlist it at the link above before it launches later this year on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
