Rainbow Six Siege’s 2023-2024 roadmap shows that there is still plenty of life in Ubisoft’s first-person shooter and, below, we delve into what each of its four seasons is set to introduce when their release dates come around.
Rainbow Six Siege 2023-2024 Roadmap
Rainbow Six Siege Year 8 Season 1
Release Date: March 7, 2023
Rainbow Six Siege 2023-2024 roadmap kicks off on March 7, 2023, when Year 8 Season 1, also known as Operation Commanding Force, goes live.
It introduces Brazilian Operator Brava while reducing the prices of other playable characters, including Oryx, Iana, Flores, and Azami.
Players who use mouse and keyboard on consoles now receive a penalty that adds lag to their inputs.
In addition, reloading has been reworked. Interrupting the animation leaves you without a magazine, except for when using close bolt weapons.
In their case, you have a single round ready for use at any point during the reload animation.
Zero’s Argus camera is able to pierce through surfaces while the Operator controls the Observation Tool. Teammates and Zero can then swap to surveil either side whenever possible, as long as they stay alive.
Much like its predecessors, Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 8 Season 1 also introduces a host of balancing changes and bugfixes.
Rainbow Six Siege Year 8 Season 2
Release Date: May 31, 2023
Rainbow Six Siege’s 2023-2024 roadmap’s second stop is Year 8 Season 2, also known as Operation Dread Factor.
It introduces Swedish Operator Fenrir while reworking the Consulate map.
The shooting range also receives updates, in the shape of a new Aiming Lane that features moving targets and a breakable wall in the Damage Lane.
A permanent Arcade playlist grants access to modes such as Headshots Only, Snipers Only, Golden Gun, and Deathmatch, while Operators such as Ace, Melusi, and Sens are having their prices slashed.
Much like its predecessors, Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 8 Season 2 also brings a set of balancing changes and bugfixes, that add further polish to the first-person shooter.
Rainbow Six Siege Year 8 Season 3
Release Date: August 29, 2023
Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 8 Season 3 goes by the name of Operation Heavy Mettle, seeing Korean Operator Ram entering the fray.
Player commendations bring a new way of highlighting positive behavior that can lead to obtaining rewards. To this effect, the reputation section is also set to receive updates.
The Quick Match playlist also sees changes that reduce its round timers, automatically reveal objective locations, and set up bomb sites in advance with reinforcements and rotations.
New players are now led through a series of playable Tutorials that teach the core mechanics alongside the basics of both the Attacker and Defender roles.
After doing so, they receive access to ten Operators (or equivalent Renown value in the case of those already owned), which they can take into matches.
Grim, Osa, and Zero, are cheaper to unlock, while tweaks and bugfixes are also on the menu.
Rainbow Six Siege Year 8 Season 4
Release Date: Late 2023
