Remnant 2 revolves around building a character that’s strong enough to take increasingly more difficult bosses. But as you spend your trait points to gain various passive bonuses, you may be wondering if there’s a way to respec and reassign those points.
Remnant 2 character respec is, thankfully, a possibility at launch, but isn’t as simple as clicking a button on your Traits menu. Instead, you have to track down one of the NPCs present in Ward 13 and have a set number of specific resources in order to craft an item called the Orb of Undoing.
Remnant 2 Orb of Undoing Respec
To be able to respec your character in Remnant 2, you’ll have to visit Wallace, a character you meet early on.
His location is a bit further apart from all the other vendors, so it might be easy to forget about him as a deluge of awesome items and upgrades compete for your attention.

You’ll find him by climbing halfway to the top of the metal structure that’s near the crane, then crossing the makeshift wooden bridge to his shack.
The screenshot above indicates his location on the 3D map and should make it easy to track him down.
Talk to him and pick the dialog option that opens his crafting menu. Inside, you’ll notice the Orb of Undoing consumable item, which enables you to respec your traits in Remnant 2.
In order to craft it, you’ll need 3 Lumenite Crystals picked up from stronger enemies and 2,500 Scrap.
The item enables you to reassign spent trait points and select different passive bonuses for your character if you find that your current ones are not quite ideal for your build. In the most recent patch (08.04.23), the Orb of Undoing underwent a slight change; it now allows for unlimited uses, and players can sell any extras for Scrap.
That is what we know so far about Remnant 2’s character respec and how to craft the Orb of Undoing. For more on the game, read our review and refresh your memory about its weapons.
