Twisted Mask is one of the unique armor pieces in Remnant: From the Ashes, which means it cannot be found like most other armor pieces, as part of random drops or as garden-variety quest loot.
Instead, the only way to get the Twisted Mask is to find an ominous-looking Mad Merchant and trigger a fight with them. This isn’t as easy as it might sound, so here’s the exact steps on how to trigger this boss fight below.
Remnant: From the Ashes Twisted Mask
Functionally speaking, the Twisted Mask is a secret quest reward. The first step to getting it is actually finding the Mad Merchant NPC, who usually spawns around Junk Town. The spawn itself may be tricky to get, as the Mad Merchant doesn’t always appear. When you finally do find him, however, you’re going to need to follow a specific line of dialogue to trigger his boss fight:
- #1 - Are you okay?
- #2 - Are you a scavenger?
- #3 - What's with the mask?
- #4 - That mask is doing something to you.
- #5 - Let me see the mask now.
The Mad Merchant himself shouldn’t be too problematic of an encounter, and when you kill them, you can finally grab the unique Twisted Mask and make use of its Regrowth armor skill. Here’s a short overview of its statistics:
- Level 1: +0.15 HP/s
- Level 2: +0.238 HP/s
- Level 3: +0.333 HP/s
