What is Returnal’s PC release date? Will developer Housemarque’s next game be a PS5 exclusive or will it also launch on PC?
Returnal is the studio’s first foray into third-person action territory, weaving rogue-lite, exploration, and psychological horror elements into its core gameplay. The prospect of a Returnal PC release date has been of great interest for fans who haven’t gotten their hands on Sony’s new console, especially following the game’s stellar reception.

Returnal also marked developer Housemarque’s debut on the PS5 but, for a while after its unveiling, there was no mention of the game arriving on other platforms than the PS5.
Of course, this didn’t mean that a Returnal PC release date was out of the question, as Sony started bringing quite a few PS4 exclusives to PC.

Rumors about this stated picking up when website Steam Database featured a game named Oregon that could have been developer Housemarque’s latest title.
Diving into its update history revealed mentions of Tower of Sisyphus – Returnal’s endless mode –, Atropos – the planet on which the game takes place –, alongside Helios – protagonist Selene’s ship.
Another tidbit that suggested a Returnal PC release date would eventually be announced, as spotted by Digital Foundry’s Alexander Battaglia, was debug text from a GDC presentation covering the title’s particle tech. You can see it at around the 13:44 minute mark.
Steam Database entries from November 8 directly mention Returnal as part of the game’s save path. Although the word itself is crossed out and written in red text, with “Tourist” being green in the full path’s name, this could be yet another hint that a PC version is coming sooner or later.
During The Game Awards 2022, it was revealed that Returnal’s PC release date is slated for some point in early 2023. Finally, an official announcement from Sony revealed that it would be released in February, on the 15th.
