Risk of Rain 2 developers Hopoo Games have broken radio silence for a second time now, opting to speak about the game's future and what development plans they've got for it.
Risk of Rain 2 development thoughts #2 more clearly references what the future holds for this popular indie release, and go into more detail about what's coming in the immediate future than was the case with Hopoo's first developer blog, released about a week after ROR2's release.
Hopoo have prepared a fair number of discussion points that they've got in mind, starting with a big Risk of Rain 2 content map which they'll be working on this week. With chance, we'll know what sort of stuff the game will be getting in the immediate future in just a couple of days. Furthermore, Hopoo have also mentioned that the enemies' 'Fire' affix seems overpowered, and, similarly, the Worm boss fight isn't quite as good as it should be.
Problems have arisen with people who got so far into the game that the enemies stopped spawning entirely, as the game skips spawns because it thinks they're too easy compared to said players' builds. "For now... it means that you terrified the whole planet," said Hopoo, adding that future high-tier monsters and affixes will resolve the problem.
Risk of Rain 2 devs have also mentioned various minor points of interest, such as the game performing very poorly on certain machines, the notion that people believe they might nerf characters too heavily in the future, and other assorted matters. They haven't offered any specific feedback on these.
