Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin’s blend of farming simulator and 2D brawler has been a massive hit in Japan, temporarily halting publisher Marvelous’ stock price.
Selling like hot cakes, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin’s has secured the number one spot on Steam and the Nintendo Switch Store in Japan. Its physical version is also sold out.
The sudden surge in publisher Marvelous’ stock price saw it rise up to ¥942, closing at ¥875 (+¥83 / 10.48%) after it was temporarily halted.
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Succesful in Japan
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin’s gameplay is split between sections in which you guide the eponymous banished harvest goddess through intense bouts of 2D, side-scrolling combat before returning to your mountain refuge, where you tend to your farm.
