Publisher Qooland Games and developer Pumpkin Studio today announced an expanded global playtest for sci-fi MMO Warborne Above Ashes starting later in April. Set to run for a month – thus ending in May –, the Total War Test includes all six playable factions, each bringing its own “exclusive features and buffs” to the game’s large-scale PvP battles.
Whether alone or in a squad, we’ll follow our faction in pursuing alliances or antagonizing and hopefully defeating our rivals. Sooner or later, we’ll inevitably have to engage in conflict across Warborne’s full map, fighting for control of several key strategic locations.

Furthermore, Warborne Above Ashes’ Total War Test also promises an expanded arsenal, which gives us access to “a diverse range of Drifters, weapons, vehicles, and offense & defense buildings” that improve both our tactical options and the ease with which we navigate its expansive battlefield.
Anyone who participates in Warborne’s expanded global playtest can earn a series of exclusive cosmetics, including mounts, avatars, avatar frames, warband emblems, and emotes.
Prior to the playtest, members of the game’s official Discord server can gather allies to their side as part of the Driftmaster Rally Event.
Reaching the required member count is the way to reserve both warband and character names ahead of the test’s start. The event can also earn you Eclipsium, in-game currency used to recruit powerful Drifters, while also giving participants “a chance to claim cash prizes.”
Anyone interested in joining Warborne Above Ashes’ Total War Test when it begins on April 24 can request access through the handy button found on the title’s Steam page.
Its full launch is currently slated to occur later in 2025. You can get a glimpse of its isometric, large-scale, PvP chaos in the video embedded below.
