Publisher and developer Mimimi Games has unveiled a new trailer for stealth strategy game Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, giving us a better look at the characters we’ll get to control and their abilities.
Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew’s latest trailer debuted during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase 2023, shining the spotlight on eight controllable characters, some of which we haven’t seen before.
Suleidy, the ship’s doctor, uses different types of Skull Seeds, allowing her to create concealing bushes on any ground surface, or determine enemies to take a stroll rather than watch over areas the party might need to cross.
Toya of Iga is a great undead cook, that can leave small, humanoid paper charms behind and teleport to them from any distance, stylishly killing nearby enemies.
Quartermaster Pinkus von Presswald then has the ability to possess enemies, which helps when you need to keep someone busy while you cause mischief.
Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew’s cast of characters also includes a headless treasure hunter, a blind sharpshooter and other magically-infused pirates, which you can see in action in its trailer.
Aside from being very capable fighters and infiltrators on their own, their abilities can synergize with each other, helping other party members get out of tricky situations.
Your ship – The Red Marley – can not just stop time, giving you the chance to analyze your surroundings and choose the best path forward, but also lets you retry encounters.
Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is set to launch later in 2023 and headed to PC, via both Steam and the Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.
