Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama is working on a new horror action-adventure game that is due out at some point in 2023. The upcoming title will be developed by Toyama’s own Bokeh Game Studio which was founded earlier this year.
The Silent Hill creator’s next horror title is currently in the early stages of development, developer Bokeh Game Studio treating PC as the “lead platform” while hoping “to release the game on as many console platforms as possible.”
As reported by IGN, a “fairly large team” is currently entering “prototype development” which is why we won’t see Toyama’s horror game anytime soon.
Both working remotely during the ongoing pandemic and turning 50 played a role in the Silent Hill creator’s turning to independently develop his next title. Once that decision was made, he teamed up with Siren producer Kazunobu Sato and level designer Junya Okura to found Bokeh Game Studio.
The three had previously worked together for Sony – on both Siren and Gravity Rush – and initially considered starting by developing mobile games.
While details about the upcoming horror title remain scarce, you can follow the developer both on Twitter and Facebook, where updates will follow in due time.
Silent Hill fans now have something to look forward to while Konami is “considering ways to provide the next title”.
