Skull and Bones has hoisted its sails and is steadily heading towards a long-awaited 2024 launch, which is when we’ll finally get a chance to make our pirate names known as we chase infamy and riches.
Its showcase in July 2022 was the beefiest in terms of actual details, but left fans wondering if a Steam release date might be planned for later this year. It’s currently enjoying an open beta playtest between 8th Feb until 11th Feb.
Publisher Ubisoft has moved away from Steam for a while now, favoring its own storefront alongside the Epic Games Store for the PC versions of its titles. Sadly, it looks like Skull and Bones won’t be the game that steers things in a different direction.
Skull and Bones Steam Release
To put it simply, there was no mention of a Skull and Bones Steam release date during the extended showcase in July. The publisher confirmed that it, like all of its recent games, will be available to PC players on its own storefront and the Epic Games Store, when it launches on the 16th February.
- Skull and Bones Steam release date: No Steam release, it'll be on Ubisoft Connect and EGS
Recent Ubisoft titles have not made it to Valve’s storefront even years after launch, so it’s probably fair to say that Steam just isn’t a part of Ubisoft’s strategy at this time. Assassin’s Creed Mirage didn’t release on it, and this looks set to continue for Skull and Bones.
Although it’s not entirely out of the question to see things changing in the future, no signs currently point towards that happening any time soon.
We’ll update you should anything change as far as the Skull and Bones Steam release date is concerned.
